Product
Portable CO2 Fire Extinguishers
Class B fire rating
Product description
A portable fire extinguisher is essential equipment in any place where there is a fire risk. The permanently pressurised model is ready to use and does not require auxiliary propellants to operate. Drawing on more than 50 years of experience in fire protection, this extinguisher is manufactured using state-of-the-art systems that meet the strict construction criteria laid down by European standards. Each extinguisher is pressurised with a mixture of 97% nitrogen and 3% helium: nitrogen prevents condensation from forming inside the cylinder, preserving its integrity and preventing clumping of the extinguishing agent; helium is used as a tracer to check for leaks using mass spectrometry. Every unit produced is checked for leaks.
All extinguishers are made from raw materials supplied by recognised leading suppliers. All purchased products undergo strict quality checks to ensure high performance and excellent quality.
The extinguisher is manufactured in accordance with EN3-7 and Directive 2014/68/EU (PED), and is approved for sale on the Italian market in accordance with the Ministerial Decree of 7 January 2005.
Extinguishing Agent
Carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is an inert gas; it is charged into cylinders in liquid form at a pressure of 55 bar and a temperature of approximately -78°C. It is itself an extinguishing agent and requires no other additives or substances to perform its function. It extinguishes by displacing the oxygen required for combustion with inert gas. The force of the jet helps move the fuel (oxygen) away and knock down the flames; during discharge, CO2 rapidly changes from liquid to gas. The temperature difference between the discharged liquid (-78°C) and the surrounding environment creates condensation (CO2 snow), which rapidly cools the seat of the fire. The agent is discharged through a horn fitted with a diffuser. Carbon dioxide is suitable only for Class B fires (flammable liquids, oils, paints, etc.) and can be used on live electrical equipment, such as electrical panels and appliances.
Applications
This extinguisher is designed for use in residential and industrial settings. It can be used on live electrical equipment.
Maintenance
Refer to UNI 9994-2013 and to the instruction booklet supplied with the extinguisher. Use only original spare parts: using non-original parts voids the extinguisher’s approvals.
Variants
Select up to four variants to compare their specifications.
